We don't really hang out. Wherever we go, we hardly even bring each other and above all, we love to annoy each other.
When you were younger (and not doing so well in school), our family would ask me to tutor you and I would refuse because no one tutored me - why should you be any different? That's the kind of machismo and tough love I was brought up with, and although that's very slowly changing in our family, we don't talk a lot let alone affirm each other.
So I've never told you that I'm proud of the tenacity you've shown in getting through university, and staying true to yourself. When we were doing your graduation photoshoot, I'm proud that you chose God first, and that has shown me that you have all it takes to go far wherever you put your mind and will to it. Don't let the dreary world of earning a living pull you down, and keep chasing whatever dreams you have. I cannot promise to always have your back and be there whenever you need me (as ideal as that may be), but as much as you're stuck with me, I will always be your brother and I love you. There - I said it. Ugh.
Blessed happy birthday, tien po a.k.a. little brother.
