Happy International Women’s Day. Here I am in a Denny’s in San Jose, Costa Rica with one of my favorite womens. We just took a 6.5-hour drive on a bus from Cocles to San Jose. One-hundred miles of bananas, cows, horses, dogs, shipping containers, shacks, etc. We got four free bananas from a kind roadside vendor. Twenty more minutes of road time ahead of us as we’ll be sleeping in a B&B on the edge of Alajuela. I’ve forgotten how to be a passenger over the years, so I called upon some heavy-hitters like Oprah Winfrey (interviewing Maya Angelou), Conan O’Brien, Greg and Jim from Sound Opinions, David Bowie, and Philly’s best band - Dirty Dollhouse - to help relax my brain as we weaved through the mountains. Tomorrow, we fly to Fort Lauderdale and then Newark. I have a mild but persistent fear of flying, yet, yesterday at Cahuita National Park, I kneeled right next to a snake that I was TOLD was poisonous. I wish I was afraid of the right things. Anyway, hello from a Denny’s in Central America.
