“And I've been dancing since i was three, so almost 20 years now! I grew up at Laguna dance theatre in Mission Viejo, CA till i was 18. I also took part in my high school's dance program, which had about 5 performances throughout the school year for all 4 years. I have spent most of my time doing concert dance, mainly tap, contemporary and most recently ballet (in and throughout college).”
What has been the best part of being a Convergence Trainee with The Big Muddy Dance Company so far?
“The best part about being a trainee is the opportunity to come into a mutual space of growth, discipline and grace every day for class. Every person in the studio loves to dance, and it's amazing to see that even though everyone has different ways of moving from a variety of training techniques, we can still come together and do the same combination. There is a mutual sense of committment to honing our technique to the best of our abilities, whether we are a trainee, a drop in, or a company member, so that we can be as generous as possible when connecting with future audience members.”
What’s your favorite part of living in St. Louis?
”The best part about living in st. Louis is being a part of the supportive art community. Whether it's dance, photography, or drawing, everyone is very supportive of each other in their chosen craft. I havent experienced that in another city yet.”
