Once people find out I'm in the latter half of my 30's, the most common question I'm asked is about my skin care routine. Here are things that worked for me:
My night time routine is more important to me than my day routine. Washing off all of the environmental pollutants and makeup is SO important to help keeping your pores clear and allowing your skin to breath. If nothing else ALWAYS WASH YOUR FACE. 🌜
At night, I wash my face first with @julepbeauty Hydrating Oil Cleanser-it gently removes any dirt and makeup, and makes washing with a cleanser afterwards much easier.
After washing, I use a toner. Toners really helps remove an excess traces of dirt or other residue. I'm currently alternating between @Clinique Toner for dry skin, and @pixibeauty Glow Tonic. Next I use @drunkelephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream before applying @rocskincareofficial Retinol Correction Deep Wrinkle Night Cream... this last one has been a staple for the past decade.. no I don't HAVE deep wrinkles, but good skin care is a terrific preventative for them, and I do love this product. In the winter I also use a facial oil since I have very dry skin. I'm currently using @julepbeauty Rosehip Seed Facial Oil. 🌞
In the morning, I rinse my face, then use a toner. My decade long go-eye cream is the @rocskincareofficial Retinol Correxion Eye Cream, and I'm currently really loving the @belifusa True Cream Aqua Bomb... I think it's going to become a permanent fixture in my routine.
Of course genetics does play a factor in your skin, as does your lifestyle. Too much alcohol, smoking, sugar, ect takes a toll on your skin. Drink plenty of water!
And you have to find a routine for your own skin type. I never suffered from acne, but I always had very dry skin that would crack and flake, so over exfoliating would cause more drying, and I usually needed heavier moisturizers with the extra face masks thrown in. 🌞
But whatever you do, remember your skin is YOURS. Be comfortable in it, take care of it, love it!😘 📸Photographer: @waynescottphotos
