The whole meal focused on quality British ingredients, with variations on classics, the dishes were noticeably more casual.
A pleasure meal to me is always about flavour but not just flavour. It started from the welcoming, Chef was waiting for me by the door with a warm smile and led me to walk up through a very classic winding cast spiral staircase to get to the delightfully decorated dinning area. I was very excited before commencing my meal at Gough's, as I had several dining experience and my best fish&chips(specially made by chef Cary) at Little Social in London 3years ago when Cary was still the chef there, and later I was going to have his food again in HK. Even I had high expectations but still I was highly impressed by the food, design and charming service.
The decor there is like visual feast for the eyes, elegant and modern. Service is also brilliant, friendly and super efficient.
Amouse bouche was truffles topped haddock mousse. The crab on beef dripping toast with caviar on top and Beef wellington were fantastic. Then coming to the last part, Sticky toffee puffing was surprisingly great even without vanilla ice cream. Okay, every dish was highlight. I had a really great time and I cannot wait to go back to try other dishes.
