This right here is literally screaming the truth at me. Life is so ironic. The past couple of weeks have been emotionally draining on so many levels. We lost Jared's sister a week ago. She was only 35 years old. The series of events that have been intertwined and that followed have left a lot of scars on our hearts.
What we have learned through all of this is that we can only control what we can control. We can sit here and say, "what if we did this or that," but at the end of the day, God always has a plan.
When emotions are high, people can say hurtful things. One thing I've been trying to work on even before all of this, is to stop letting emotion take over. Yes, it's fine to grieve; it's a necessary part of the process. But when emotions are so high, I believe the best thing to do is to step back and take the logical approach as opposed to the emotional one. We can never "un-hear" what we have already heard.
I believe Kelly is watching over our kids because I know how much she loved them. One thing I will always remember about Kelly is that she gave the best hugs. Whether she saw you months ago or just the day before, when she hugged you, she meant it. If we all gave a hug like Kelly, the world would be a better place.
Jared is by far the strongest human being I have ever come across in my life. His strength throughout all of this is admirable.
Life is short. Make it sweet. Make your health a priority. And remember, we can only control what we can control. ❤
