Hi, my name is Alex and this is #myskinmystory
Music has always been such a big part of my life. My first impactful encounter with music was in high school when I joined choir. This is where I discovered my passion for singing and where I was able to explore the power behind lyrics and harmony. Throughout the years I’ve been exploring different genres of music and eventually found my love for house music. Every summer I go to music festivals, not only because I love the artists who play there but because it’s a place where I can unite with a community who shares the same passion. Dirtybird is a record label company of some of my favourite artists. I love showing off this tattoo because it exhibits my dedicated towards the genre. When applying for jobs or when I’m around my extended family I do feel the need to cover it up. Unfortunately, I feel as though I’d have a lesser chance getting a job if I have my tattoos showing. Also, my elder relatives see women with tattoos as vulgar. I wish they’d see it’s just a part of my identity that I wish to portray everyday.
